A sold out Ahoy, a DVD recording, a fantastic concert and a meet and greet.
Those were the ingredients for a wonderful evening.
Last night Katie and her band played an amazing concert at the Ahoy Hal in Rotterdam
As support act we saw the newly, by Mike Batt discovered, talent of  Andrea McEwan.
With this fine warming-up the concert of Katie took off.
Before the concert they announced that the whole concert would be recorded for a future DVD release.
Katie took the stage and performed 4 solo songs.
After that the light panels displayed a animation of the entire band who started playing the next number.
Then these panels went up and there was the band for real.
Katie talked a lot during the show and told some interesting stories .
She told that one day when she was at Mike Batt's home she spotted a calendar with on every month a "true or false" story.
On one of these months she read "Mary Pickford used to eat roses and Mike said that it would be a perfect title for a song.
The next morning he had this song ready and called it "Mary Pickford".
All the songs Katie, accompanied by her fantastic musicians, sang where brilliant yesterday evening.
The highlight of the evening, apart from her hit "Nine Million Bicycles' was the song of Janis Joplin called "Kozmic Blues".
The version this night was the best she did so far and with a fantastic guitarsolo of Luke Potashnick.
It still gives me the goose bump at this time of writing when I think about it.
At the end of the concert Katie apologized because two song had to be done again for the DVD recording.
She joked and said that we off course all wanted to go home and have a sleep to get up early next morning.
I don't think that there was anyone who cared about that even if the entire concert had to be done again!!
After the concert we went to the artist entrance and waited for an hour and meanwhile the whole band autographed our tour book.
Then suddenly a security guy came outside and told us that we had permission to go inside and have a meet and greet with Katie!!!
I don't have to tell you that this was the perfect end for a perfect evening.
